The drive itself is great, through the vineyards and local logging towns. Driving through the winding roads and escaping the city is great in itself. The Falls are situated in the Yarra.

Tread carefully, though, as the tracks (and the rocks at Amphitheatre Falls) can be slippery. Toorongo Falls Campground is a popular place for camping, so it might even be worth making this a weekend trip.
